As an initial preparation for ministry, the Diploma provides a broad understanding of ministry fundamentals to fulfill a variety of roles within the local church.
The Diploma of Practical Ministry is awarded by Christian Heritage College and is accredited by the Queensland Minister for Education who, in accordance with the Higher Education (General Provisions) Act 1993, is the accrediting authority for higher education courses offered outside of universities in Queensland.
This accreditation is recognised nationally and internationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
The Diploma is a two-year full time course requiring a total of 16 units of study for completion. Similar to our Bachelor course, the Diploma is structured around three fields of study:
Field A Biblical Studies
Field B Theological and Church History
Field C Ministry and Mission
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Satisfactory completion of year 12 or equivalent.
Students will be expected to show, through their documentation, that they possess an adequate foundation for higher education in terms of mastery of basic skills in areas such as comprehension, reasoning, and communication.
Applicants will also need a Queensland Suitability (Blue) Card.
It is also possible to enrol in units on a non-credit (audit) basis.

TRANSFER OF CREDIT
Applicants who have completed previous tertiary study in relevant areas may apply for transfer of credit towards the Diploma of Practical Ministry.
