In assessing eligibility for entry and in offering places to applicants, the School of Ministries of Christian Heritage College treats fairly all persons seeking to enrol. Allocation of places is based on merit, although the college, in making admission decisions, may take into account any educational disadvantage that an applicant may have experienced.

While the college makes an open invitation to applicants, its application procedures are also intended to assist students to make an informed choice about whether the School of Ministries of Christian Heritage College, and the particular course applied for, are appropriate choices in view of the applicant's education and career goals.

The applicant's Student Education Profile (SEP) or equivalent is considered as one of a number of measures of school achievement. In addition, school reports, referees' reports, and the applicant's personal interview will be expected to demonstrate evidence of appropriate school achievement, particularly in language and communication skills. Applicants with interstate or overseas qualifications may be admitted if formal educational qualifications are assessed to be equivalent to Queensland entry requirements.

Alternative entry

There are two paths for alternative entry at the School of Ministries of Christian Heritage College: provisional entry and mature age entry.

Provisional entry

Applicants may be admitted to an undergraduate course under Provisional Entry criteria if they do not fully comply with academic criteria for entry but can demonstrate some evidence of likely success in the course.

Mature age entry

Entry into an undergraduate course under Mature Age Entry criteria is available to applicants aged 21 years or over who do not possess the formal educational qualifications for normal entry. Mature age entrants must demonstrate, through work experience for example, a strong possibility of success in the course for which they have applied.

Applicants will be asked to indicate any previous study they have undertaken. It is important that all prior studies be listed especially Year 12 (if completed) and any subsequent study (for example at a university or TAFE institute). If applicants believe that their work experience is relevant to their application, they should provide detailed documentation at the time of application.
