A Citipointe initiative and currently in its 11th year, the Red Frog Crew Hotel Chaplaincy Australia Schoolies Support Network was founded in 1997 when youth worker, Andy Gourley saw the need to help keep young people safe as they celebrated what has come to be known as the notorious “Schoolies” Week.

The program originally started providing support to accommodation providers faced with the huge task of looking after the masses of young people filling hotels and apartment complexes to celebrate leaving grade 12 and beginning the new phase of adulthood.

Since its inception, Hotel Chaplaincy has spread Australia wide covering 17 schoolies festival locations, providing a support role for an estimated 70,000 schoolies via a network of around 1,800 youth workers and volunteers.

Following on from schoolies we saw the need to continue our support to school leavers when they go off to university. Up to 80% of all first years already know about us because they have been helped by our chaplains during their schoolies week celebrations. Hence, this provides us a unique opportunity to support new university students because they are already familiar with our crew and are happy to make the most of our continued services.

So if you are a uni student on college asking what this means for you here is the answer! Red Frogs are on campus for you! Our sole purpose is to provide uni students with free stuff including essential party needs – red frogs, donuts and icy poles. Also look out for & don’t be afraid to request coffee for those late nights of study. You can be the most popular person on your floor by requesting the Red Frog Crew to come storm your dorm with frogs, pancakes, coffee & other random goodies!
